Victoria Palms RV Resort
This was our week to enjoy the coming of the new year and to "get things done"! We enjoyed the first and came up a bit short on the second.
We truly enjoyed New Year's Eve and we were determined to make it to the celebratory mark!! We did all we could to talk our way through those "fall asleep" moments. I was so ready to call the kids those couple of seconds after midnight to wish them a Happy New Year!!! About quarter of twelve we decided to turn on TV and watch the ball drop in Times Square. What is this? They're actually sweeping the streets...we missed it!
Wait a minute...we're in Texas....New Year's happened an hour ago for our kids...AND we know they're in bed where they should be by now!!! Now what??? And, then we heard sounds...went outside to watch the fireworks to welcome the new year in....surrounding us on every horizon; no matter where we turned....welcome 2014....it was really the BEST (and most unexpected) fireworks display EVER!!!

Any site with a concrete pad (no mud) is an
"A" site for us. This is a lovely park, but, unless
you can find something to do in the park, the rest leaves a little bit to
be desired. There is every store you could think of...even two
and three of the same. No place to kayak; no place nearby to play golf;
no nearby movie theater; and, as much as I love flea markets, you can only take
them once a month. So, goodbye to Donna, Texas...
Next stop....a state park in Laredo,
Texas....let's see what's happening there....
