Are you getting tired of seeing "The Beave"? At this time in our lives, this is (1) our home, and (2) somewhere new! I sat outside last night and realized the sound of the wind through the leaves of the palm trees was a lot different from the sound of the leaves through any other trees in any other site we have visited. We take our comfortable "home" to so many different places; and because we can do that, we are truly blessed!
Speaking of blessed...Sarah is with us (until tomorrow, the 4th). Again, we have spent our time on the beach or relaxing or exploring the nearby shopping areas. My only wish is that we could share this adventure with all our family and friends so they can see how Dad and Mom are spending their retirement!!!!! I hope this blog helps to share our travels with you all.
There is a tract of land, Santa Rosa Island, that runs from Destin, Florida to beyond Pensacola Naval Station. It includes our destination at Navarre Beach (again that beautiful soft, white sand with green water and sometimes yellow--slight undertoe--flags. To date we have never experienced anything other than a yellow flag.) Again Ken (Linda) forgot the camera, but take our word for it...it was muchly (new word) similar to what we found at the Panama City Beach beaches. This is quite different from what we have grown up with at Cape Cod beaches!!! We drove Gulf Boulevard on Santa Rosa Island one day on a gloomy morning before the sun came out and it looked like a lot of homes--on stilts--after a snow storm because of the white sand (we found only one home with grass)!!
Our next destination is Gulf Shores, Alabama. We look forward to more Gulf beaches and some golf. Then we begin our two week trek north arriving in New Hamphire to see Jodie, Dennis and Zander on May 1st...I hope it has warmed up a bit by that time!!

Caught up with your adventure via your blog today. You're "on a roll" more ways than one- good job! LOVE the picture of the three of you on the beach with the umbrella back drop. Looks like the Christmas card shot for 2008 to me! And what a great job of text and photos you did at Homasassa Springs Park!
Travel On!
